Fr. Vordtriede was born and raised in South St. Louis County. The oldest of three, he grew to love his Catholic Faith through the witness of his parents, through serving at the altar, and through the search for Truth. After being inspired by the witness of then-Archbishop Raymond Leo Burke and feeling called to explore a vocation to the holy priesthood, he entered Kenrick-Glennon Seminary immediately after graduating high school.
Eight years of priestly formation later, he was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of St. Louis on May 24, 2014. In addition to his love for all things Catholic, Fr. Vordtriede enjoys Cardinals Baseball, the music of "Weird Al" Yankovic, watching documentaries, researching the JFK Assassination, and keeping up with the latest changes to theme parks around the country.
